Great Book, Amazing ad.
This ad is actually somewhat topical, as it aired during Superbowl XVIII in 1984, costing Apple 1.5 million dollars. Directed by Ridley Scott, Steve Jobs, seeing the brilliance in the ad, had to push it past his old-fashioned board of directors, who thought the ad was too controversial. Never backing away from the innovative, the ad succeeded in every way, including helping prove Job's abilities as CEO of Apple.
With regards to the ad itself, I always personify Apple in my mind as a busty female long-distance runner in extremely short shorts running with a hammer. Is she Winston Smith?
